Financial Reporting for LLCs in 2025
All Russian companies are required to submit annual financial statements as of December 31. For 2024 reporting, the deadline is March 31, 2025, using the old forms despite the cancellation of the relevant order. Starting with 2025 reporting (due by March 31, 2026), updated forms according to new standards will be applied.
It is important to remember that financial statements must be submitted exclusively electronically through specialized services. Paper submissions are no longer permitted.
Tax Reporting Depending on Taxation System
- Companies under the general taxation system (OSNO) must file profit tax returns with frequency depending on advance payment schedules: quarterly for quarterly and monthly advance payments, and monthly for payments based on actual profit.
A new profit tax return form will be introduced in 2025.
- Additionally, OSNO companies must submit VAT returns quarterly in electronic format, with an updated declaration format being implemented from Q1 2025.
- Companies using the simplified taxation system (STS) file a single tax return once a year by March 31 of the following year. For 2024 reporting, a new form of this declaration is used.
- Unified Agricultural Tax (USAT) payers report once a year, with no changes to the declaration form.
- A new tourist tax is being introduced in 2025. Companies subject to this tax must file the corresponding declaration quarterly.
Employee Reporting
To the tax office (IFTS), companies submit the Insurance Premiums Calculation (RSV) quarterly, even if no payments were made during the reporting period. An updated form of this calculation is used starting Q1 2025. Form on employees income tax (6-NDFL) is submitted when payments are made to individuals and retains its previous format. Personalized information does not need to be submitted separately if included in the Insurance Premiums Calculation.
To the Social Fund of Russia (SFR), employers must submit information using Form EFS-1, which includes data on pension contributions and workplace injury insurance. A fine of 500 rubles per insured employee is imposed for late submission.
Submission Deadlines and Penalties
If the reporting deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, it is automatically extended to the next business day.
Penalties for missing deadlines vary by report type:
- Late submission of financial statements incurs fines of 1,500 to 5,000 rubles, with the exact amount depending on company size.
- Late tax returns are fined 5-30% of the tax amount (minimum 1,000 rubles).
- Form 6-NDFL submitted late incurs a 1,000 ruble fine per month of delay.
- Late SFR reports are fined 500 rubles per employee.
Electronic Reporting Format
The following reports must be submitted electronically:
- financial statements;
- VAT declarations (except for non-VAT tax agents);
- Insurance Premiums Calculations and 6-NDFL forms (if payments were made to more than 10 individuals);
- Social funds reports (if more than 10 insured persons);
- statistical reporting (if required for a particular organization).
Submitting these reports on paper incurs fines of 200 to 1,000 rubles.
Checking Reporting Requirements
To clarify the list of required statistical forms, companies can use the special Federal State Statistics Service service by entering their tax number or prime state registration number. If the system does not display any reporting forms, the organization is exempt from submitting statistical reports.
Compliance with established deadlines and reporting rules helps organizations avoid financial penalties and claims from regulatory authorities.
