Confirmation of the status of a tax resident of the Russian Federation

For the status of a resident of the Russian Federation, only the actual presence on the territory of Russia is important. To obtain the status of a tax resident, you must stay in the territory of the Russian Federation for at least 183 days during the next 12 consecutive months.

The following documents may be a confirmation of the absence of a resident status:

• passport with marks of border control authorities on border crossing;
• receipts for hotel accommodation;
• migration card;
• timesheet;
• other documents that can be used to establish the actual presence of a person outside the Russian Federation.

If you need to confirm your resident status, you can send an application:

• electronically via the FTS service;
• in paper form in the Federal Tax Service at the data center at the address: 125373, Moscow, Pokhodny proezd, household 3.

If documents in a foreign language are attached to the application, such documents must be translated into Russian and certified in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Russian Federation
